No more snap when you release the tension! Soft release ;-)
The ratchet is a very convenient tool to tension your slackline, but it becomes sometimes harder when comes the moment to release her. Therefore we offer you to add the Lasso (soft release) to your setup.

The soft release for ratchet as the name said allows you to softly release the slackline. Just gently let slide the soft release webbing!
A real benefit! Top to preserve the "teeth" of your ratchet and use it longer
No more stress when the tension is high into the system, you won't get pinch! The Lasso allows as we said a soft release.
The Lasso has a protective layer on the loop (textile colored layer) to let the webbing slide without risking harming it (due to frictions and the heat caused). Safety is our concern.
To install the Lasso, fix it directly on the axe of the ratchet. Compatible with all 50mm wide ratchets

Technical specifications

  • Composed of 1x 50mm wide and 1,50m long webbing with protected loop (reinforced with a strong textile layer)
  • 2 x Hook and loop to lock the Lasso and prevent/avoid any sliding.
  • Lasso working load : 15kN
  • Lasso breaking load : >50kN
  • You can buy it directly (nude), without options
  • Attaches directly to the axe of the ratchet. See user guide in "documentation"
You will need two keys (wrench) to install it. (not included)
  • If you order one shackle and one ratchet with the Lasso, you will received it, ready to use.
  • The Lasso is perfect to be used with a ratchet. The Lasso alone is useless, he's conceived to be use in association with a ratchet.
  • The Lasso is made to work with a 14mm shackle. If you don't already have one, get one. This is an essential element. (see options)

Using advices

  • Use the round side of the 14mm shackle on the Lasso side.
  • Works with all 50mm ratchets
  • Suitable for Freestyle (trickline/jumpline) but not with arm lever ratchets (like the Goliath)
  • 3 layers of webbing on each side are necessary for a correct use. The black hook and loop must be perfectly superposed.
  • Re-do the Lasso directly after each use to preserve the hook and loop during the storage.
It will also be easier to use the next session ;)
  • Even if you use one ratchet on each side of your setup, you will need only one Lasso.
  • Always install a backup on your ratchet(s) to secure the installation.
  • Store your equipment dry and clean, away from UV, moisture, heat sources.

Incompatibilities

  • Never use with those elements due to the width of the webbing :
    • Carabiner
    • 12mm (or less) shackle
    • Quick link
    • Delta quick link
  • Setup longer than 35m
  • Arm lever ratchet (such as Goliath or those in the Andy Lewis Kit)

Product content

  • 1 x Lasso (nude)
    • One 50mm wide webbing, 1m50 long with reinforced eyeloop and 2 hook and loop to avoid any sliding.

Options to add - Up to you !

  • Captive pin shackle - If you don't already have one, she's essential to the correct use of the Lasso.
    • The 14mm shackle allows you to fixe the Lasso to the slings or spansets (round slings) fixed on the tree.
  • Ratchet+
    • The classic ratchet is perfect for tightening a slackline. Sold with spacers, works both with thin and large webbing.

Responsability

Slacklining and particularly Highlining are sports having no legal framework or norms concerning the gear or the setup.

Consequently we cannot warranty our gear for Highlining.
Our products are tested by independent labs (Apave) and inside of our company via a process evolving with practice.

The results of those tests have no legal values, they aim to ensure the safety and comfort of using our equipment.

It is the responsibility of the slackliner to choose the right gear with adequate resistance and to have the necessary experience to adapt his installation to his practice.

Generalities

  • Don't rig your slackline accross a path,a road or any crossing
  • Don't rig your slackline higher than 2m
  • Ride on a grassy or soft ground, without roots or rocks
  • Always backup your setup
  • Never use ratchets for highlining
  • Never use urban furniture as anchor point

This equipement is absolutely not made for highlining. Find more information on our website highline.fr

Video and user guide are in progress. But thanks to the video below, you will understand how works a Lasso.

Simply gently release the webbing to release the tension and de-rig the installation.

How to determine the tension in your slackline ?

  • Our spreadsheet :
Thanks to the following sheet, you will be able to approximately know the tension into your gear (slings, shackle, slackline, etc.). You will then know if you are using it correctly, meaning correctly regarding the using advices and most important the strength limits.

  • The dynamometer or Linescale
This product allows you to mesure exactly what is the tension into your equipment.
