- Information : Install a slackline without a tree -

You have a nice garden to install your slackline but... There is no tree! Darn!
Don't panic, we have the solution: The 4x4 Outdoor Kit!
The 4x4 kit is the slackline kit for a tree-free installation in your garden or in a place with few trees.

It is suitable for families. It is intended for an easy and playful practice of slackline in an environment without trees.

Its installation is quite fast and intuitive, it will take about 15min and only requires a sledgehammer (not supplied).

Ideal for people up to 50kg in a grassy area. For people weighing more than 50kg, a well-packed ground will be necessary for the good holding of the anchors.

All our webbing and wooden parts are made in France. And the preparation of your slackline orders - from design to sewing and packaging - is done in our workshop near Annecy (France - Haute-Savoie - 74).

The no tree slackline kit is composed of three parts :

  • 1x slackline kit with ratchet and a wide slackline - 15m long - Made In France webbing
  • 1 or 2x ground anchoring system (stake x2 + fixing plate x1)
Plates made in France by us, PEFC certified wood
  • 1 or 2x wooden "Aframes" that allow you to choose the installation height (a bit like trestles) - from 20cm up to 70cm high
Made in France by us, PEFC certified wood

The 4x4 outdoor treeless kit is suitable for several types of situations :

Only one tree in the garden

You have only one tree available (no other tree or it is too thin). You then need a solution to attach the other side of the slackline in the ground.

  • Choose the "setup with only 1 tree" model

No trees in the garden

You don't have any trees available (or they are  too thin). You then need a solution to attach both sides of the slackline in the ground.

  • Choose the model "setup without tree".

Using advices :

  • The kit installs at knee height for children/beginners, making it safe to learn.
  • You will need a sledgehammer (not included), to drive and remove the stakes
  • Can be tension by up to 1 person
  • Only one adult and a maximum of one child on the slackline at the same time
  • Make sure that the landing area is free of any protruding parts (root, stone, edge of terrace, chair, table, etc)
  • Put the handle of the ratchet on the top of the slackline for easy tensioning unlike a kit installed on trees
  • Dry your slackline well after use. This will extend the life of your equipment
  • The equipment can remain installed for 2 or 3 days maximum. Ideally dismantle it after each use.
  • The Kit can stay in place for a few days, 2/3 max. It is better to release it after use.
  • Store your Kit, clean and dry, as you will do for any other textiles pieces. Click here for more details about how to store and maintain slackline equipment.

Incompatibilities :

  • Do not attach to street furniture (poles, lampposts, etc.), nor to the posts of your terrace or balcony! They are not at all made to undergo horizontal efforts!

  • If you want to fix the slackline in a wall, we have a solution for you: the wall plate
  • No Jumpline/Trickline! For Freestyle, see the Trickline kit.

Responsibility

Slacklining and more particularly Highline (in the void, secured by a harness) are sports practices that have no normative or regulatory framework for the manufacture of the material as well as for its installation.

This is why we do not guarantee our own equipment for highline use.
Our products are tested within our company and independent laboratories (mentioned on the product page) via a process that evolves with practice.

These resistance tests have no legal value, they aim to ensure the safety, resistance and comfort of use of our equipment - in the context of our practice.

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to choose the equipment with the appropriate resistance and to have the necessary experience to adapt the installation to his practice.
And to use appropriate equipment to secure oneself if necessary, such as PPE equipment (climbing gear, ropes, etc.).

Generalities

  • Do not install your slackline across a path, trail or place of passage
  • Do not install your slackline more than 2m from the ground without securing yourself with PPE equipment
  • Practice on grassy or cushioned ground free of any protruding objects or objects that could cause injury
  • Do a back up = secure your tension system
  • Never use a ratchet for highline practice
  • Never install your slackline on urban furniture (benches, lampposts, barriers, etc.)

Safety regarding highlining

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to use appropriate equipment to secure oneself if necessary, such as PPE (climbing equipment, ropes, etc.).

In NO CASE is this equipment designed to secure itself. For the lifeline - called backup - we advise to use only PPE standard material (climbing material, ropes, etc).
Unless expressly mentioned, no slackline element can be considered as PPE (personal protective equipment) for sports and leisure activities

NEVER USE SLACKLINE MATERIAL TO SECURE YOURSELF / TIE YOURSELF DOWN. IT IS NOT CLIMBING EQUIPMENT, NOR IS IT EPI STANDARD EQUIPMENT.
