About the 335cm Highline leash

Dynamic rope threaded into a tubular webbing.

  • Rope: dynamic rope QUASAR 9,9 mm with uniform thread & dry treatment;
  • Sleeve: nylon tubular webbing 20 mm width, total diameter 12,5 mm;
  • Available models: CLASSIC leash or innovative DYNAMIC leash with crinkled sleeve;
  • Length: 335 cm standard
  • MBS: with fig-8 knot: 20 kN;
  • Weight: 385 gr. for model 360 cm CLASSIC leash without rings;
  • Made in: Italy.

This leash is made with a QUASAR 9.9 mm dynamic rope, threaded into a tight sleeve of 20 m LEASH LINE tubular polyamide webbing.

  • The CLASSIC LEASH has the same sleeve length as the rope's length;

What is the right LEASH length?

The standard length of a LEASH is 330 cm. With this length you can tie easily two main fig-8 knots at both ends, plus two simple safety knots with the tails, and you'll still have enough extra to walk without feeling retreated.

Partner check and warnings

Read carefully the manual of each product and before every use always check, through a partner's check, the following:

  • the LEASH is in perfect condition, with no signs of wear;
  • the harness is properly closed;
  • the fig-8 knot has been correctly tied to the harness;
  • the ring is correctly inserted to the highline;
  • the fig-8 knot has been properly tied to the ring or rings;
  • all the knots have sufficient leftover rope (tail), minimum 12 cm.

Remember that our LEASH is not a personal protective equipment (PPE). Never use this device without an experienced highliner who supervises you and takes sufficient precautions and safety measures. Slacklining and especially Highlining do not have any standards in law yet. For this reason all manufacturers, including ourselves, have the duty to declare officially these products as not suitable for Highlining.

Transport, storage and lifespan

Remember to always keep your LEASH far from sharp objects; store it in a dry place and away from direct sunlight, avoid contact with acids or solvents. In case of contact with salt, wash it with clean water. Always undo all tied knots during storing your LEASH.

Under normal use conditions, the LEASH follows a lifespan indicated by the rope QUASAR 9.9 mm manufacturer (CAMP). In general, a limit of 10 years is considered, but life is significantly reduced on the basis of: exposure to UV rays, salt, ice and contact with chemical agents.

In the event of neat abrasion marks, cuts or deformations, the product must be immediately replaced, therefore its life can be reduced to a single use. The rings must always maintain their original shape without deformation, cracks or sign of wear. Contact us for any clarification needed.

Warning

The leash is not a PPE device. Read the instructions carefully before using it, it is important to know exactly how and which knot to use to connect your leash.

Responsibility

Slacklining and more particularly Highline (in the void, secured by a harness) are sports practices that have no normative or regulatory framework for the manufacture of the material as well as for its installation.

This is why we do not guarantee our own equipment, or equipment we retail, for highline use.
Only "Easy Slackline" products are tested within our company and independent laboratories (mentioned on the product page) via a process that evolves with practice.

These resistance tests have no legal value, they aim to ensure the safety, resistance and comfort of use of our equipment - in the context of our practice.

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to choose the equipment with the appropriate resistance and to have the necessary experience to adapt the installation to his practice.
And to use appropriate equipment to secure oneself if necessary, such as PPE equipment (climbing gear, ropes, etc.).

Generalities

  • Do not install your slackline across a path, trail or place of passage
  • Do not install your slackline more than 2m from the ground without securing yourself with PPE equipment
  • Practice on grassy or cushioned ground free of any protruding objects or objects that could cause injury
  • Do a back up = secure your tension system
  • Never use a ratchet for highline practice
  • Never install your slackline on urban furniture (benches, lampposts, barriers, etc.)

Safety regarding highlining

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to use appropriate equipment to secure oneself if necessary, such as PPE (climbing equipment, ropes, etc.).

In NO CASE is this equipment designed to secure itself. For the lifeline - called backup - we advise to use only PPE standard material (climbing material, ropes, etc).
Unless expressly mentioned, no slackline element can be considered as PPE (personal protective equipment) for sports and leisure activities

NEVER USE SLACKLINE MATERIAL TO SECURE YOURSELF / TIE YOURSELF DOWN. IT IS NOT CLIMBING EQUIPMENT, NOR IS IT EPI STANDARD EQUIPMENT.

VORTEX is not a PPE device. Read the instructions carefully before using it, it is important to know exactly how and which knot to use to connect your leash.

How to determine the tension in your slackline ?

  • Our spreadsheet :
    Thanks to the following sheet, you will be able to approximately know the tension into your gear (slings, shackle, slackline, etc.). You will then know if you are using it correctly, meaning correctly regarding the using advices and most important the strength limits.
    Click there to see the sheet and enter your datas : calculate slackline tension

  • The Linescale dynamometer
    This product allows you to mesure exactly what is the tension into your equipment.
