The world's first clip & go highline ring that follows the highliner.

VORTEX is the first clip and go connector for leash and highline. Simply thread the leash into our VORTEX, clip it into your already rigged highline and follow the manual to tie the knot correctly and lock it securely.

The great innovation of the leash going around the VORTEX gives you an unmatched feeling of walking without being followed by a ring at all. Its light weight and the padding of the rope are also a prevention against possible serious impacts of a leash fall on a highliner's body.

Patented technology, the ring follows the surfer

VORTEX is a unique ring that allows you to install and remove the leash after rigging. You can use it on any already rigged highline and you can leave your highline setup even safer overnight by easily removing the leash and ring before you leave.

If you have more than one highline to ride on the same day, you can finally have your personal gear follow you around for all the sessions.

A great choice for both, if you are a first timer or an expert highliner who helps you on potential rescue missions.

Inside diameter vs. outside diameter

With the new era of SPLIT-connected highlines, there has been a need for larger and larger inner diameter rings to easily fit through the SPLIT connections. The disadvantage is that the larger the inner diameter of the ring, the heavier it is, which increases the risk of impact caused by a fall.

Our VORTEX has an inner diameter of 65 mm to keep the weight as low as possible and to be able to pass through the SPLIT segments easily. It has a special geometry, completely different from other classic rings: the leash rope is threaded all around the outer diameter of the ring, which has been tested for years and gives, according to our expert highline testers, a revolutionary feeling of walking without being followed. According to their comments (5/5 stars only), crossing the SPLIT connections is perfectly smooth and easy.

Reduce the risk of injury

The very light weight of the VORTEX reduces the risk of injury. The leash covers 3/4 of the outer surface of the ring providing additional protection against impact.

When walking, VORTEX always stays in the same orientation, with its padded surface on top, which already makes it safer than a regular metal leash ring. Finally, the surface of VORTEX prevents slipping against your heels when descending a steep highline.

Dynamic highline movements - is it safe?

Yes, all testers confirm that using VORTEX for their highline sessions is as safe as any other ring, or even safer.

During dynamic movements like highlining, there is a higher risk of hitting the leashring and getting injured. This is why highlining athletes prefer lightweight, padded leashrings.

Our top athletes choose VORTEX as their preferred ring for dynamic highlining movements.

Warning

VORTEX is not a PPE device. Read the instructions carefully before using it, it is important to know exactly how and which knot to use to connect your leash.

Responsibility

Slacklining and more particularly Highline (in the void, secured by a harness) are sports practices that have no normative or regulatory framework for the manufacture of the material as well as for its installation.

This is why we do not guarantee our own equipment, or equipment we retail, for highline use.
Only "Easy Slackline" products are tested within our company and independent laboratories (mentioned on the product page) via a process that evolves with practice.

These resistance tests have no legal value, they aim to ensure the safety, resistance and comfort of use of our equipment - in the context of our practice.

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to choose the equipment with the appropriate resistance and to have the necessary experience to adapt the installation to his practice.
And to use appropriate equipment to secure oneself if necessary, such as PPE equipment (climbing gear, ropes, etc.).

Generalities

  • Do not install your slackline across a path, trail or place of passage
  • Do not install your slackline more than 2m from the ground without securing yourself with PPE equipment
  • Practice on grassy or cushioned ground free of any protruding objects or objects that could cause injury
  • Do a back up = secure your tension system
  • Never use a ratchet for highline practice
  • Never install your slackline on urban furniture (benches, lampposts, barriers, etc.)

Safety regarding highlining

It is the responsibility of the practitioner to use appropriate equipment to secure oneself if necessary, such as PPE (climbing equipment, ropes, etc.).

In NO CASE is this equipment designed to secure itself. For the lifeline - called backup - we advise to use only PPE standard material (climbing material, ropes, etc).
Unless expressly mentioned, no slackline element can be considered as PPE (personal protective equipment) for sports and leisure activities

NEVER USE SLACKLINE MATERIAL TO SECURE YOURSELF / TIE YOURSELF DOWN. IT IS NOT CLIMBING EQUIPMENT, NOR IS IT EPI STANDARD EQUIPMENT.

How to determine the tension in your slackline ?

  • Our spreadsheet :
Thanks to the following sheet, you will be able to approximately know the tension into your gear (slings, shackle, slackline, etc.). You will then know if you are using it correctly, meaning correctly regarding the using advices and most important the strength limits.
Click there to see the sheet and enter your datas : calculate slackline tension

  • The Linescale dynamometer
This product allows you to mesure exactly what is the tension into your equipment.
